Was I riding it? Fuck yeah I rode it down to the Motor Jesus shop I’ve been riding it since June and that fucktard Davestune’s been riding it for 10 years in total oblivion I guess. We should be dead....

The springer front end was held on by 1-1/4 turns of the top nut..scary shit

Brought it down to motor Jesus just to weld on some tank bungs and it turned into a total tear down and rebuild of the frame.

Looks to be a 55 rear section with a 69-up neck section “welded” on....badly

The moral there is always completely tear down and strip anything that old when ya get it. Ya end up replacing most of the bike anyway so starting fresh is less work. Most old choppers were garbage, but the majority of those are long gone (because they were so very sloppily done) so we forget how generally shitty most people worked back then.

Modern conceptions of quality didn't exist and choppers were to take young, usually wasted (good times!) people to parties, not gummers to Starbucks. This being before the internet nobody knew anything could share skills and knowledge with more than a very few people. Magazine tech articles were brief and near useless because boobies (mmm...boobies) were what really sold bike mags.

Things are much better now. Too bad most of us will be dead in ten years.

In defense of Dave. 1&1/4 threads is more than adequate.
I do however have a center section of a swingarm frame if that would work. Used it for the neck and backbone. Unfortunately my Motor Jesus cut the seat post casting even though I gave him specific instructions NOT to do that unless absolutely necessary . He deemed it necessary , I question that. The only thing wrong with this frame when I got it was that the tube brace that holds the swingarm was broken. Otherwise , perfect.
That being said the rest of this frame is good . If you can use it let me know. Obviously no mechanical brake crossover but you could use your own or run a disc. I wanted to keep it for a motor/ transmission stand but maybe , because of your situation , I could be persuaded to send it your way for a nominal fee plus shipping of your choice. All mounts are good, I would chase and check all threads before sending it your way. I could send you many more close ups but I'd rather just text them. Pics seem to be glitching out today.Click image for larger version.

Fuck Davestune he should be charged with attempted murder for foisting this garbage on innocent bikers

I so appreciate the generous offer but my motor Jesus is going to salvage this frame and make it roadworthy I sincerely appreciate the offer and I take back most of those hateful things I may have thought or said about you

Good advice that Davestune apparently doesn’t believe in he just dumped pounds of metal flake on this turd and then put on his Roy Orbison sunglasses and said “I see nothing“

How RUDE! That kindly old duffer would never think of such a thing, but as we're all mortal it's never too early for investment planning.

It was quiet around here when Dave and BBQ re-newed their wedding vows and went on that cruise together.
All was good with the nuptials for a little while untill yet another one of the unseemly skeletons from Dave's tumultuous past came back and sent BBQ running from their candle lit dinner table in a monsoon of tears vowing to pack his bags and go home to mother.
    The honeymoon is over....

Tragic that, but all love ends in separation or death, sometimes both with lots of stabby screamy shooty burny bashy fiery explody violence.

Further tragedy (and PMITA prison time) can be averted by professional relationship counseling, available for my usual modest fee which can be paid in (select) barter instead of cash.

Where both estranged parties may have been employed by our firm, we outsource some work like haulage to our associates like Str8leg Vehicle Liquidations to avoid unseemly appearance of conflict.

It's only fair. The relationship was a tsunami of disappointment , the split up doesn't have be.
Only looking out for your best interests.
