Fixed the leaking pushrod seal ( sent $2,000 warranty bill to Davestune) upgrades to LED lighting and burned 8 tanks of gas over the weekend. No problems. Next up is the Belt Drive...

So this is a question for tattoo because he has the same carburetor an S&S GBL I took this carburetor off my Shovelhead and put it on the pan head and it runs pretty much exactly the same pulls great however I cannot really get a stable idle and the revs tend to hang when I push in the clutch and then slowly come back to a somewhat high idle if I try and turn down the idle to a nice loping potato potato potato it has a tendency to cough and then stall so I have to turn up the idle to prevent that and I have checked for intake leaks there are nome maybe I have worn throttle shaft bushings? Or is this just the nature of this carburetor since I guess it was originally intended for race so doesn’t necessarily have to have a nice idle on the street?

Sorry for any typos I am doing voice to text while sitting in traffic and that’s as good as it gets

So basically I have hanging revs if I come to an intersection push in the clutch downshift I come to a stop in the motors at like 1200 RPMs and then I turn down the idle a little bit to get it to a nice normal low and then it would want to cough in stall so I turn it back up again you see what I’m dealing with

I have an M 74B I could throw on it as well as a couple of super B’s laying around but I love the look of the L side bowl carburetor and it pulls really good it’s just that the idle issue was getting a little tiresome

Also...both bike have electronic auto advance ignitions

Your symptoms are that of a worn throttle shaft and shaft bores. The carb has no bushings from new, but can be bored for bushings supplied by S&S (same as for a Super B, if I'm not mistaken). Shaft replacement is necessary when bushing the carb body, because the shaft will be worn out too.

Easy diagnosis: grab the throttle cable lever, open the throttle, and then see if you can move the shaft in its bore (usually horizontal movement, same direction the cable pulls it). Any noticeable movement, it's worn out.

Thank you kind sir now what is the deal with that dual bowl set up? I don’t think I burn enough gas to require it but it sure does look cool
