Need help 1988 heritage softail classic broken inner primary

Inner primary broken beyond repair. My bike has been down for a year and a half because I cannot find the OEM 60630-86A... I dont have the money to put a new open primary system on it. What are my options as far as upgrading to the 90 and up inner, outer and starter/cylanoid? What fits?... mine has the cylanoid on the top and the starter is the Hitachi starter on the back and by itself. Please.. throw me some ideas or better yet, if ya got that part I need let me know.
    Thanks

Best option is the later spline shaft 94 and up transmission/primary/Denso starter which is a nice upgrade and what I would do (and did on my '88 FXR). The Denso produces more torque and you can use the pushbutton solenoid end covers as backup or primary means of starting.

BTW used starters are not a big deal when saving money. I replace the contact kit which is cheap and easy with the starter in hand.

A later inner primary cover MAY fit along with the improved later starter and jack shaft (I'd use a one-piece later jack shaft) but I don't own a Softail or have those parts handy. The transmission case must be bored to fit the later starter drive housing which is larger diameter. I don't know if the stock inner primary will clear the later starter jack shaft but it's likely.

Any Culters have those parts lying around and curious enough to check?

Me too. We vacationed there when I was a youth.
