Is there an LED headlight that will fit Unity 6" housing?

I am still thinking about changing up the headlight for the Panhead. I have the classic Bates 5 3/4" on there now and ever since it was mentioned by this group, I have been thinking I would like to convert an old 6" Unity. I have found a Harley Halogen bulb - 67692-92 that will work, but was wondering if anyone has found a LED bulb that would work in there.

I do want low and high beams but have had no luck so far. Google has let me down!

Anyone found something that will work?

    Thanks,
    -DB

Cool find. It's an Emgo part number - ZS300010, so it should be fairly easy to find elsewhere.

Just won an auction for a pair of the 6" deck lights. Those are the ones with the chrome knob on the back. Between the two of them I will be able to make one good one and then sell off the extra bits and pieces. These have the nice art deco Unity cap on them, should match up with my paint quite nicely.

So I picked up a pair of 6" deck units for ~$70.00 delivered. I've also ordered that 6" H4 housing. Thanks again!.

Between the two lights I have one perfect unit. The other pieces can be worked by someone who knows their stuff. Since they are stainless they will buff out really nice with just a touch of patina on the mount and knob. I will post up as I get them done.

Now I need to read up on extra sturdy LED bulbs for motorcycles.

That lens is killer, looks like it should have been on there since day one

Little bit of an update. I have an old 5 3/4" Halogen conversion housing that fits like a glove. I used the rough Unity housing I have to mock it all up.

Once I realized that a 5 3/4" bulb would work the next thing was to modify the retaining ring to work with a Hi/Low beam housing. A bit of work with the Dremel and a file did just fine.

Here it is clipped into the housing. I love the semi round clips, they hold eveything nice and tight without putting too much pressure on the glass.

Next I hit the retainer and the clips with the wire wheel and then some old High Temp Pontiac engine paint I had laying around.

After measuring the space inside the cavity there is one LED bulb that should work nicely. It is only rated at 2,000 lumens, but that should still be brighter then even a Halogen.

                    More to come.......

I should mention that the 6" Emgo adapter I tried will not work in this housing. The bulb area is 6". but the overall bulb width is about 6 1/2". The Hella above is the hot ticket.

DB, that Unity is nice but I don't know if that 2000w LED in that set-up will work that well.
LED bulbs require a compatible reflector and 2000w ain't that much.
The cars will see you better though.

                          Thanks for the input,

Supposedly the bulbs I am looking at are made specifically to go into an H4 housing.

Now that it looks like I can use a 5 3/4 bulb the other option is a projector type unit, however I have mixed feeling on the aesthetics of the ones I've seen.

Here are a couple of pics with the Unity and a halogen bulb in there. Digging the look of it on the bike, I really appreciate Davestune suggesting it.

The other day I was able to ride a bud's Sporty with a Daymaker clone on it. Damn that is a nice headlight! I could not believe the light it kicks out and the beam is right in the sweet spot. Decisions, decisions, lol.

I decided to give a Daymaker clone a try instead of putting a bulb in the Halogen housing I have. The lighting at night is remarkable with this thing and it cost the same as just a LED bulb to fit the other housing. The only downside is I can grab a Halogen at any parts store, if I had to buy a Daymaker on the road it would cost an arm and a leg.

If this one burns out or causes any type of problem I will report back. The look is not quite as retro as the rest of the bike but it still works for me and yes, traffic definitely sees me even in the day.
