    Thanks, Bbqbiker and James69. As you can see, the pics were taken long ago (like 45 years.) The shortcoming to riding long distances on that set up was the vertical grips. You have to actually hold on to them and can't relax your hand. After a while your forearms start to cramp.

    Thanks for the input and pics everyone. Mother that bike is sick. I have bunch of other projects that need finishing but hopefully I can have this EL on the road in a few months.

    Not sure if it's me you're asking, but I'll answer anyway. I still have it, though it doesn't look anything like that anymore. The frame is long gone. The last time the engine was re-done we put 80" Shovelhead flywheels in it with Jim's tappets and tappet blocks, S&S oil pump, Mallory ignition. Of the visible stuff in the pic, I still have the rear fender, tank badges, and the front wheel, which is holding up the mock up now, 45 year old Carlisle tire and all.
