Panhead magneto problem

Hello, i found a magneto on a swapmeet that i bought, and now i have problem whit the ignition timing. I think that maby the cam in the magneto is wrong. I set the front cylinder to 35 degree before TDC and and adjutant magneto so the point starts to open on narrow lobe. Then lock it. When i check the rear cylinder and the big lobe the cylinder is in TDC when the points start open. Not 35 degree before.

On the picture i have set timing to open on TDC on front, and even the big lobe open points when front is in TDC

Try timing the front cylinder to the wide lobe of the cam. I know that's wrong, but something looks funky about the point cam in that mag.

Try going about 30 or 40 degrees past the advance mark than set the Mag down ...

Where your trying to load it is right in the pluse of the magnets and it swings the lobe where it's most difficult to drop in on time...
After the Mag is keyed in on the hex you can back it up to the advance mark to check...

found a magneto on a swapmeet

You didn't mention the manufacturer of that magneto...anything to identify it? Others may be able to ID it...but I would have to guess.
Like Jim said, that breaker cam does look funky compared to what the other pics and videos show...do you know what it was on before?

Thanks for all input, i dont know the manufacturer of the magneto. Here is som more picture from the day i bought it if some one else know. Can the magneto be for a parallel twin ore somthing maby. I will check more after work.

Your driven gear on the shaft is installed backwards ...

Okej, thanks for that info. perhaps i need to buy new magneto rotor from joe hunt to work right, and also new shaft with 3/8 hex on the top.

Yes i know, the gear was only pushed on like this when i get it. now its right and locked with roll pin.

Seems to me that Morris used a 3/8" hex drive and Hunt used a 5/16" hex...

Being there is no retard on the Hunt base and that Mag is meant to be locked down at Full Advance, it may be a good idea to get a Morris Mag cap that has a retard feature ..
Would make kick starting to life a lot easier ..

I have tanke my magneto rotor of today and i have 3/8” hex so only need a new rotor if it fits in the magneto house. That cap looks cool and would be good for my knees ��
