    Trimming sportster cam cover

When cutting down a cam cover, does this hole need to be plugged back up and how would be the best way to do so? The hole leads up to the bushing I circled in white.Click image for larger version

Yes, that is your main oil gallery. I have drilled and tapped for either a 1/16NPT or 1/8NPT tapered pipe plug. Install with loctite after final cleaning before assembly on the motor.
Or, you can weld it up as it was originally.
