Default Help with springer crown nut

Hey guys. I got another issue with my mix matched springer eBay special. I bought it with no stem so I don’t have a crown nut. At the risk of embarrassing myself, I didn’t know those were threaded until recently so I just made a spacer.

Now that I know better I’d like to find a crown nut but I don’t know what fits. It’s a 1” paughco stem and Old Stf conversion cups for sportsters. I have access to a lathe so if I can find any 1” crown nut I can machine it down to size but they’re all labeled for what bike they go on and not what size they are. I’m just trying to avoid spending $50 on a nut that won’t work. As always, thank you for the help.

This is the only picture I have but it’s just a piece of 2” round stock with a 1” hole.

Measure the thread with a thread pitch gauge..I think a standard big twin HD thread is 1-24 thread?...My old Fury industries springer had an odd 1-14 thread....Found the nut @ McMastercarr and machined a step shoulder on the underside to fit my top piece.I'm sure Paughco can inform you of their thread pitch?

I did the same thing. I stupidly did what you are trying to avoid. So I have a brand new 1" chrome one, still have the packaging. I'll sell it to you cheap if you want it. I ended up having to get a 7/8" one for a 45 and turned it down to fit a big twin frame.

Yeah that’d be awesome! It’s a 1-24 thread stem but if all big twins are the same it should work? I’ll DM you
