Well, I knew it was going to be close ...
Here's whats going on ...

My first test for valve to valve was using the rocker arm ratio for Shovels ... That is 1.43 ...
But ... This beast is using the 1.5 ratio that Panhead rocker are at ...
Did a bit of math and came up with new numbers for the TDC lifts ..

And this is what we have now ...



Well Doggies ... !! Thought I have this long term motor build done tonight ... Nope, not going to happen ... See the valve to valve clearance, don't have enough so it looks like I'm sinking the seats and doing a back-cut on the valves to come up with at least" .040" clearance ...

Back to the salt mine ....

Ok ... I took off .010" from the O.D. of the exhaust valve and did a 45* back-cut ... That helped alot but still need more ... Going to do the intake valve and see where I'm at ... Not wanting to sink the seats but it may come to that in order to see the minimum clearance ...

Took off another .020" from the O.D. of the exhaust valve ... Thats .030" in total ..



That's as far as I'm going on it .. Now to hit the intake with the back-cut, not doing the O.D. cut on it ... I just might get lucky with the back-cut ... ??



I see the light but it's not enough ...
Ok, alright ... Tomorrow will trim a little off the seats ...

This is where we stand at the moment ... Going to sink the seat .020" and recheck ...





Creeping up on the target ... I have .026" valve to valve clearance ... Target is .040" ... Now to sink the intake .020" and do another look-see ..
