    Should I make a new metal plate to cover the seat post and 2 open areas? Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for suggesting I rework that hinge Jesse. I dont know what I'm doing, but I dont want it to look that way.

    I feel a little bit bad about modernizing the bike with air springs, but my back problems are severe. I can tell just sitting on it how good they feel. Also I figure the man that built it updated it with hydraulic brakes, so I'm kinda following his lead.
