Ironhead head help

I already posted the question but couldn’t figure out how to change the title once posted. My apologies, this is the only forum I’ve ever joined. Anyway, will heads off an 85 XLH work on any 73- 85 jugs? And has anyone tried the aftermarket jugs for Ironheads? Thanks in advance.

Your heads will work.

I've not used any aftermarket IH jugs but they are such simple parts it should be a safe bet for a stock displacement engine. I've used a few sets of Taiwan Ted aftermarket Shovel jugs with cast pistons and Hastings rings with zero problems.

Thanks to everybody whom responded! I ordered and received the 85’ heads. Now as soon as I can get the rest of the top end parts gathered... I’ll be putty together an engine.
