Default 78 IronHead longer rear brake cable?

Hey Y'all, I just put a 4" stretch hardtail on my 78 IH.

Does anyone know where I can get a longer rear brake cable. Or maybe ideas on converting to a rod linkage? I would like to run the old school drum.

Here are a couple of pics

Just get some rod and clevis and build one. Not much to it. I had a rod to begin with and just needed to lengthen it. I just went to TSC and got some steel tubing (I think 3/8ths). Cut the ends off the original rod and welded them to the longer rod.

Someone left a shopping cart on my front lawn, I choped it up and used a section for the rear drum,

Threaded on one side and the other had a rod end towards to motor

Ended up using all-thread and made a clevis to connect the rear brake.

Got the back wheel spaced and chain on. Wrapping the pipes this week and gonna make a proper wiring harness.

Still have to get a tank, seat and lights, getting there. Came home with a roller, engine and 4 big boxes of shite. Had it fired up, sounds killer. Down to one small box of Misc. nuts, bolts and washers..

That should work I guess. Just a thought..how about finding some stainless brake line to slip over that allthread ? Just to cover the threads.

By the way, love the mag on the rear with the drum. Not too many of those around. Did you hardtail it ? That looks like the hardtail I have on mine. It was a bolt-on and I made top tubes to weld on the backbone just like that. The axle plates even look the same. You are probably going to need to use a rubbing block or a chain tensioner to get the chain off that bottom cross tube.

SS cover is a good idea, thanks.
It was hardtailed when I got it. The mags are growing on me, I like the drum too. I do want to put a 21 on the front. Yea I will need a rub block or a chain ten.

You could've been a smart man and video taped it and sold those tapes. Sweet bikes, man!
