I see these guys had a few comments and ideas for ya:
"Hi, I am over in Ireland and have come across and nice chop that has been lying up a long time..."
General Harley Davidson Chat - Jesse James chopper - Hi, I am over in Ireland and have come across and nice chop that has been lying up a long time. I have brought it home and I think it is an original Jesse James due to a plate on it and detail and quality of the bits. She has a s&as engine and a jims gearbox. Just...

          including checking this site:
If buildin' old school choppers was easy, anyone could do it... ain't nobody said it's gonna be easy...

Can you get a pic of the whole bike? In one frame, you know?

Man I know he was building ugly shit, but I don’t think it was quite that bad.

I am of the opinion that jesse james built some beautiful bikes. I would go so far as to say that he is the top fabricator out there. Having said that i am 99.9% sure that bike is NOT a jesse james build.

What is the VIN and what does the title say?

Looks Big Dog to me. http://www.bigdogbiker.com/ could ID it precisely or tell you if it's not one.

Re: the engine, contact S&S with the engine (not motorcycle) serial number IF the engine cases are marked S&S. Some clone builders used S&S parts including cases but didn't buy the engine complete from S&S. That way you will have a better idea of what you have and (if it's an S&S) a source for correct spares.
