Default Can Anyone confirm Vermont Reg still works in 2018?

Hey folks! Well my baby is finally done and ready to rip, only thing is I need to get a plate on the damn thing. I have read a lot about the ol' Vermont loop, but everything is dated back to 2011-2014 as far as articles and threads go. Can anyone on here confirm it still works? I really don't want to deal with going through the special construction BS... but if need be I'm going to have to put a mirror and blinkers on...

    Thanks

I was told in my state it’s a problem with the VT registration. Just as much paperwork as going through this special instruction route. I ended up just bitting the bullet and using a guy down in Florida, title king express, or something like that…
He did 2 titles for two separate builds I did. It’s a Fl title in your name. Just go down to the DMV once you get them and transfer them into your state. I’m in nj and everything is a pain in the ass. But this was seamless , no questions asked.

It was $400 for each title. It really was a painless operation, he just sent me two short forms to fill out , mailed them back to him and then in a few months I had two titles in my name from the state of Florida.

Just make sure your state DMV will accept a Vermont registration for title.

I had trouble a couple years ago with the Vermont shit. I used a titling agency in Tampa, sent them like $300 and they sent me a title. Couldn't have been much easier.

Not sure where you are, but my brother did the VT thing in 2017 in AZ without any problems.

the main thing with going through VT with a bike without a current title is that anything over 300cc needs to have the VIN verified and signed off by a cop. so that is really the biggest hurdle. after that is just mailing in the forms and check, something around 40 for the paperwork and then the taxes, which can be looked up on their site. i think at the end of the day i dropped about $300 to get a title through VT.

With the Florida deal, what kind of title do you receive? Special Construction/Salvage/Clean and green?

It’s worth mentioning that you can just do this at the DMV. California, which is typically considered the hardest state title a bike in, is definitely doable. I’ve done it multiple times. Purchased bikes without a title, bill of sale only, filling out the correct paperwork at the DMV I’ve gotte my title in the mail within a few weeks. You really just need to fill out a statement of facts and be persistent and ready to spend a few hours in the DMV a few times.
