6 over fork tubes = ghetto lean

I've got a 96 Xl 1200 Custom and looking for suggestions for a longer kickstand. Unfortunately I don't have access to any welding equipment or else I'd take that route.

I know you're looking for the easy way out, but in my opinion (MY opinion) the only way to address that is to put some rake and/or stretch in it.

Local welders often do small jobs. BTW I'd cut and extend the pad end, not the inboard end, because a stand is a lever.

do it properly & rake the frame,.. …..well, I guess it's your bike,.....it may help to think of things in advance of jumping in head first wanting the ''Instant Chopper'' look,...

I spoke with a welder yesterday and he's a go. S. Lake Tahoe is limited on some stuff, I wasn't expecting there to be a welder so close. much thanks for suggesting that.

Ghetto lean is fine unless your float in the carb (like mine, doesn't like it and coughs fuel out)!

Yes sir you need a longer stand but that's not a bad look at all... It reminds of a sporty I had back in the mid 80s...

                              nice! got a 65 myself.

Oh and about the kickstand.. Pay a welder to extend it like mentioned above or I saw a post awhile back of a guy bolting an old skateboard wheel to the pad of the kickstand to make it taller.
