Those are the eldest design and more gracefully proportioned than the fives. Good call IMO.

    Yessssss! Thanks, Farmall!
Also picked up a set of Palmer's new books, personalized
    Very excited.

Now questioning the authenticity (even though it's a repop) of my frame. Seems they might be a swingarm front end with a rigid caboose... Homework!

74! Some of it is cheesy, but it's got a good look I think. Starts but won't stay running. Crazy loud.
Seems like it isn't feeding gas. Cleaning the carb and seeing what I can get him to do with as little as possible. Handlebars aren't gonna work but that's neither here nor there...

Good place to start with a build ... ^^

    I also have a 74 CH that I sold to a Buddy ...
This critter is bone stock, which alot of the Oem parts won't be used with what he has in mind of building ...

Nothing wrong with scooping up Ironheads while they're still cheap, but best to slide something reliable into the mix and do some riding along with the collecting.

Oh yeah, this is an I don't know what I'm doing kind of purchase. It was a good deal, it's pretty, and a heck of a lot closer to running than my pan shovel. It's more or less a savings account, but who knows. The pan is definitely the project I'm focused on, but this little 74 doesn't seem like a bad investment if all it needs is a few tweaks.
I was not at all looking for another project, but here I am looking up carb rebuild kits.

Having trouble finding the kit for this carb... everything that comes up (and three shops suggest) is for another carb number. That carb is 38mm and mine seems to be 42mm unless I'm a moron, which is possible. Is this a big deal? I don't really want to do surgery on a gasket.
