I got a 63 year old memory clouded by years of smoking pot. Dont remember seeing pictures of her lifter assembly, and certainly not going to take the time to research if the topic has been dscussed.

Plus, the point bears repeating for the inexperienced.

After much chatting at the lb swap today I decided running boards are it. I'm just going to have to grow and that's that.

You can put new rollers on but if the tappet body to lifter block clearence is out of spec you will have to go oversize.
Because of the rust? Or just on principle, like changing a timing chain or a thermostat when you do a water pump and on and on...
I definitely do not want any grenades.

Sorry drags, I'm working on a brain that can one day match the male counterpart! Until then I'll be scrolling and hitting the back button and asking things just like Alex.
I know we've talked about it and which ones to buy, but this is the first time I've seen mine in the flesh.

Both. I know new lifter assembly are pricey and you mention being on a tight budget, at the least change out the rollers, especially if you are using a new cam.

I'll look into pricing and all that fun stuff and see where I am in order to buy stuff. I've got people here with probably everything I need but you savers of parts are hard to make a deal with! Haha. Thank you!

All the cams are low milage Andrews cams except the "h" cams they are hd. The lifters came out of my 65. Only got about 5k babied miles on them.also got push rods. NOT FOR SALE. Any cam you want lifters, pushrods free if you want them. These parts still have a lot of life in them. I have had them sitting in my garage for years. Will never use them.

Whoa! I will absolutely take you up on something! I've slowed down a bunch one because of work and two because I ran out of blue towels and keep forgetting to get more. I definitely need pushrods, and I'm still interesting in looking at these lobes to see how bad they look (under my awesome judgement). Will post pictures.
                        Thank you!

And some fun little trinkets from the breather tube?? Any ideas? The bits are metal and rubber gasket pieces.

Thats not good. Most likely will will need to do a complete tear down of motor to make sure 1) there are no more pieces in the rest of the motor,2) assess if and damage done to bottom end components.also if breather bore gouged out you may need to go oversize on breather gear.
