Does Ultima Single Fire Ignition kit need compatible regluator?

I have somewhat of a basket case project on my hands. I have a 1984 FLT frame with that year transmission, and am putting in a 1996 Evo motor into it.

I recently ordered the Ultima Single Fire Ignition kit with the coil included. My question is whether or not I need to have voltage regulator that is compatible to that ignition system? Or are many of the stator/regulator kits universal?

No, those are two separate systems on your bike. One is charging your battery, the other is supplying an electrical signal to fire your plugs. You have the compatible coil which is the only thing you need to change when you do single fire. All it needs battery wise is a 12v source from the key switch
