Has anyone done this before? I don’t have the transmission yet so I’m wondering what I would use I know it has to be a short shaft. The Panhead is a 51, I’m just kind of stuck on this I need to make it to an electric start because I can’t kick over anymore due to a injury from being hit by a car a year ago. I’ve seen the tech cycle electric start kits for Panhead‘s but I don’t know what transmission I would need. Would a ratchet top work with a starter on it? Thanks ahead of time

Don't get me wrong .... Tech makes some very good products...
And I have used there starter kits for both years of the four speed tranny cases....
With both kits that they make the primary covers will need cutting up for the needed room of the clutch drum starter ring gear...
With the RSES, no mods goes down on the left side of the tranny, none ...

Oh that’s perfect! So what trans are you using? I don’t have the trans yet, was going to get a long shaft pan trans...but it is also a ratchet top and I didn’t know if that would work but it looks like the starter isn’t in the way at all right?Comment

Yes, long shaft ratchet top. You will need to space out your motor pulley to match. Tech cycle can help with the proper spacing. This is what i used http://techcycle.com/4-speed-isolator/ that works with a later model ratchet top. It mounts to the trans in place of the inner primary.Last edited by fastfiat; 05-21-2018, 12:30 PM.Comment
