1970 nosecone shovel with softail 6 speed in a rigid wishbone

I'm re-doing my old shovel. It had a straight leg rigid and 4 speed when my dad had it. Since then it progressed to an aftermarket swingarm with 10" shocks that rode almost as rough as the rigid. I'm now in the process of going to a wishbone rigid set up for a softail tranny. It will have a 6 speed with electric and kick start. I will post up a few pics as it comes along.

Is that an Ultima 6 speed?...I'm looking at a kicker kit for my '02 twincam 5 speed and I think ultima makes them?

If they make it it won't last long...

Yes, it's an Ultima 6 speed with kicker. I told them it was for a 1995 softail when I ordered it. I'm sure they probably make one for your bike as well.

I have made some decent progress since my last post. I am loving how the 6 speed tranny shifts compared to the 4 speed. The electric start works really well now! I need to pull the front end apart and find some new seals for it. I have to figure out how much fork oil to ad as well.
I have attached a few pics...

I tore the front end apart and put in all new seals. I also added a solo seat and chain guard. Next will be an aluminum diamond plate cover below the dash area.

Your bike looks great like it is... Diamond plate will take away the look of the bike.... In my opinion...

The more I look at it the more I like the open look. I may just leave it as is. As hinted at above... keep it simple, less is more.

I've had this brown leather bag laying around in my garage for years... even tried to give it away once. I'm not crazy about bags but I added it to the left side to carry a few tools, etc.

                          Looks good.

Make sure your sack is well supported to avoid unpleasant surprises.

It looks real nice.... I did that back 10 years ago and my bike was featured in the GC mag and it brought back the single bag style..... I really like the look.....
