    Default Bought 1st shovelhead tonight

Bought my first shovelhead tonight, a 1982 FXWG. Got some cool stuff on it and will get more pics after this weekend. Paint job is gay, but does have Invader rims, and a dual disc Wide glide front end. Also one wierd thing about it, it is missing a kicker.

You did buy a shovelhead engine but you got the whole rest of the bike too.
So maybe you should say... oh never mind.

I can't see shit in those pics but the few which had a blank kicker cover (due to MoCo insanity) will take a standard 4-speed kicker setup. Buy Baker gears and kicker arm because Taiwan shit arms and pedals bend quickly in normal use and stripped ratchet gears can fuck up your knee.

This man speaks the truth. I have been through MANY $99 sets of kicker gears until I spent the money on Baker gears (which would've been cheaper in the long run), and now I own a Baker 6 into 4 trans. The stuff from Baker is worth EVERY PENNY!!!!

Also from the limited view of the pic, is that a 5 speed in there?

Sorry I couldn't update with more pics sooner. I was out of town. Buying this thing has been wild, had a title issue, and owner had no key for it so that is up first to get done. Got a pretty good deal on it, the clutch is smoked, so think I want to go to a BDL primary and new clutch set up. The paint is fugly as all get out so the tanks gotta go too. The Invaders are the whole reason I picked this bike. I didn't know about the blank cover over the 4 speed so that threw me for a loop, so I guess I will be moving to the Baker 6 into 4 earlier than planned.
