Around $350 .... We will need to install a later pinion bushing for the 58-up pinion shaft cause it will come with the 36-57 already installed...

For being a re-pop I'm very impressed with the quality...

Outside of the nuts having cold chisel marks all over em, I'm wondering why the keys was filed down ...

The good news is the flywheels are in grand shape...
No cutting from the rods side thrusting, like not seeing that ...

Both of those shafts will not be reused ... The left flywheel will have it's taper enlarged and a key-way broached for bigger and better stuff...

Right side, taper remains the same just a larger shaft will be needed.

LOL. I'll find the receipts and post the shop name who "rebuilt" this pooch. I doubt they're still in business, but this shit is crazy.

Being the 58-up shaft used a diff. size bushing in the cam cover, a bit of work had to go down to change them out ...

I see two things going on in that photo...

One; is a set of kick-ass STD heads that has the Pan exhaust port and the Shovel intake..
Two; is a set of 48 heads that will be up for sale in the classifies ...

Cool beans ..... Those STD heads is like icing on the cake for a Pan running 4-3/4" stroke and a C grind AP cam.

Those STD heads are running bone stock Oem Shovel valves & springs...
We can't have dat, lets see what some Black Diamond Race flow valves and springs from KPMI look like in em ... Want too ... ??

                    Hummmmmmm
Encountered a problem from the get-go ... The rocker arm studs are sitting tall on the heads not allowing the pan covers to sit flat ...

Those covers has seen better days.. The rust ain't doing anything for me.!!

would a taller gasket do it? https://realgaskets.com/product/pan-...x-gasket-hd-1/ Looks a little bigger of a gap than that though.

They sure did make those heads goofy looking from primary side. doesnt matter though, its gonna be a runner! I'm psyched to see this all coming together!

I'm going to see if I can sink the arm studs deeper into the heads ...
If they don't wanta move will grind some meat off the tops....

Right on. Would definitely rather not have to put a taller rocker box on there if possible, though I do like the look of the cast cce ones, but I'd rather not spend the money and the time polishing a set of those out at the moment.

Why did they make the fins so square on these? Just more surface area for better cooling? Is there also another fin added over the stock ones?

I suspect these are going to end up getting a bit of a haircut when I blow the bike apart for paint over the winter.....

No more rust .... And they look as good as chrome being only polished ...

STD added more fin area, if you was incline to file them down to attain a closer look to the Oem heads, ya could, but I kinda like their ability to dissipate much more heat..

This part of the motor sprocket shaft up-grade from the weak one inch taper shaft to the L81-86 keyed shaft is done...

The flywheel is the og one that S&S made for the 54 and back one inch shafts, now the taper has been supersized for the L81-86 keyed special shaft.

Soon the balance will start to go down .... Just got to weigh up all parts and drill some holes in those virgin wheels...

Will keep the nose on the grindstone ...
