    Built some new handlebars

There was some 1" round bar in the garage, and a tubing notcher I got for christmas I hadn't tried yet, so what the hell! I'm not 100% sold on the "pointy" tops yet, it looked way better on paper. They turned out pretty damn straight, everything is within 1/2 degree of symmetrical.

Made some progress today. Got the bars mocked up, checked the length of throttle cable, brake line and wiring, and the wiring is the only thing I need to redo. That's fine, since the initial wiring job on this bike wasn't really clean to start......

Anyways, if you are a cheap ass like me that uses a rattle can most of the time, look at the VHT ROLL BAR AND CHASSIS paint. This stuff is durable as hell! I used to not like it much, until I read the instructions. NO PRIMER! It holds up way better if it's applied to CLEAN bare metal. Click image for larger version

Great use of your christmas notcher and well done with the alignment. Perhaps adding "pointy" tops to your sissybar will help tie it together. Thanks for the paint tip.
If buildin' old school choppers was easy, anyone could do it... ain't nobody said it's gonna be easy...

A new Sissy bar is on the list before spring.
