    Default sportster wheel fitment question

Ive been searching the forum to see if my question has already been answered and I can't seem to find it.

    So here it goes.

I have a set of spokes I got off of a pre 99 eve sportster(tapered bearings) I want to put them on my 01 sportster.

if I convert them to sealed bearings will they be a direct swap? Or will I have issues with the rotors lining up with the calipers and or spacing issues?

Also the 01 has mags on it. Not sure if that matters for spacing.

This site is the shit and any help is greatly appreciated.

You'll need new spacers to fit the '99 wheel onto the '01.

Old post I know, and hated to raise the dead, but someone may need the info. And considered it may help.

Looked everywhere found little info, so what would you do about the front?
I'm in the opposite end of the issue. I have 98 basket case I'm bringing back to life. I needed rims and was able grab a set of 13 spoke from an 01, with new bearings and spacers and tires was in it for 160.
I got the rear all hung and have the front left to deal with.

Dealers trying to suggest I need to swap everything on the front to 01, to use the rim. Claim is as the sliders, axle fork tube and caliper all changed. I haven't given it thought much till today. As I done other shit to get bike re-assembled.
I pressed the front bearings, installed the (junk) 98 stock axle with the 01 spacers in the kit nothing matched up. My thought is to grind a spacer down to fit my needs.
98-99 axle with a 2000 up spacer kit not going to work for sure.
Looking at axles the 2000 is longer in threads, but head is shorter, so don't think it would work, as I'm told the slider on 01 has a shallower pocket than the older stuff.
As my axle is junk and only good for mock up I need order one up, so in theory wouldn't a 97 axle kit be fine for my setup? Hearing others experience on this would be insightful.
