1968 YG5T oil pump removal

So I bought this bike with the knowledge that the oil pump was dead, that the bike was now running pre mix. The previous owner bought the oil pump block off kit, but never installed it, I'd like to install that now.

I removed the oil pump and still have the shaft protruding from the case. Will I have to split the case to remove the oil pumps shaft?
