Fender Woes: 08 Nightster

All right ladies and gents,

Before I continue, I preface this post with I did try digging for info, but couldn't specifically find anything regarding my issue.

Issue: Chopped fender rubs at the back
Chop: Roughly lowered about 2"
Ideal Objective: Run chopped/ lowered fender and be able to ride two up
Should I

1) Build a small bracket that lifts the fender a bit
2) Is my suspension pre-load set to the stiffest setting?
3) Run aftermarket shocks? If so which ones?

Get a smaller rear tire...u can keep same width just make sure the second # in the seies is smaller 1st number is tire width in mm 2nd is tire hieght in % of how many mm wide it is

chick ridin on back better be little as fuck, I wouldn't put anyone on that. keep it like that and make her uber. if you have to have your cake and eat it mount fender to swingarm or go with rigid struts or longer shocks. don't change your tire size.

If you lowered the fender 2" it is going to rub with the stock shocks plain and simple, check Burly Brand Stiletto shocks, they come in 12.5" and 13.5" should get you high enough, click the link. http://www.burlybrand.com/product/28/stiletto-shocks

Fender has to be mounted high enough to clear the travel of whatever shocks your running period.
Go for shorter shocks or maybe lowering blocks on the swing arm?
Lower, check travel, add 1/2"-3/4" clearance for tire swell, mount fender. In that order.

Or get 10 inch struts no shock absorbtion but no rubbing cause theres no suspenion travel

Fellas, thanks for all the inputs. All of them are solid as hell! I think at this point, I'm going to attempt to
1) Purchase taller shocks
2) Measure clearance
3) If things are still sketch, I'm gonna ditch the idea of the GF riding with me and chop the fender shorter

@Jay235, as much as I want to run struts, I may not have enough time to see the chiropractor every week lol! Don't get me wrong, I really contemplated it.

Taller shocks will just increase the gap between tire and fender while static and it'll look goofy as fuck. Like mine does.
