Default Making an 04 Fatboy FLSTFI Softail not cheesy - Compatibility Questions

Don't tell me to ditch the EFI. I have plenty of carbs and old bikes. I'm enjoying the EFI and plan to rock it. (I also plan to keep the swingarm, hate me all you want)

Got a king sporty tank for it, now I just need to find a sportster fuel pump for a reasonable price. Does anyone know if they wire straight up, or if I need to customize the harness?

I'd like to figure out a way to run the speedometer (without the dash). Besides knowing how fast I'm going, I can use it to read codes. Also, I believe the ECM is wired through the speedo, making it an important part of the EFI.

Does anyone know if sportster speedos are compatible, or of any speedo with a built in housing that would work? Or if I just need to build a custom housing? Or does anyone sell aftermarket housings for stock dash mount speedos?

I'd like to move the speedo down to the side. (kind of like this pic)

Any leads on more information how to do this project would be appreciated. I know how to deal with simple old stuff, but all this newfangled EFI and ECM is uncharted territory for me.

    Thanks y'all!

I'm digging it too. I just moved to Reno and to go anywhere is a drastic elevation change. I have to re-jet my Super E for the thinner air, but the EFI does all the adjustments automatically on the fly.

Your Speedo is "married" to the ECM via the VIN number.
You'd need the Harley dealer interface module to change it or replace it.

Why not french it into that sporty tank?
Lots of in your face bar/riser bracketry available.
Even more options if you use your imagination and a little fabrication

Side mount is super cheese IMHO
And asking for trouble first time you dump it on the left side. Many a sporster owner bemoans the loss of their side mounted Speedo.

Very nice bike. It's cool to see a newer model looking that good.
