    8mm hex bolt xs650

Sorry if there is another thread about this already. Admins feel free to delete if needed, but I am at my wits end with this. I am in the process of pulling apart the forks on a 1981 xs650, and have got the 8mm hex bolt to pull the two tubes apart loose but it won't come out. I have the 17mm extension on the inside of the tube and used an air impact wrench on it and all it does is free spin. Though when I check it by hand there is still resistance as if it needs more loosening. I have also tried reassembling the forks and every other trick on the world wide web but still no dice. Please help me, I need an adult.

Figured it out. My make shift 17mm bolt in the socket was slipping. Once I tack welded the bolt in the socket the bolts came out with no problems. Admins you can delete this if you want/need.
