How to Screw in fork tops By yourself

Hey guys so yesterday I had filled my oil in my forks and had to figure out how to get those darn caps screwed in so here's what I did, I took 3 garden stakes and placed two between the top tree and the fork top then I used the third stake for leverage and squeezed the two outer stakes to push the fork top in so i could start the threads.
Works. I've done it myself by myself for myself.. Cheers

Same theory as a spring-style clothespin excet as a spreader. Leverage is cool.

Using the trees would also work with a large nut, bolt and washer. Face bolt head down with shank through the top tree, nut below tree and washer between nut and top tree.

You could also use a spare set of triple clamps as an off-bike compressor. With a second fork tube or cutoff hunk of a scrap tube it would be even more shift-resistant.
