It's just a hand shift stock tank that I added the scoops to. So it's the same gallon tanks... It looks a little wider looking at it from the top...Last edited by Tattooo; 06-18-2017 at 10:37 AM.

Tell ya an idea that I've been toying with in my head....
Take a set of the WLR re-pop tanks and raise the mounting position up on the frame about two inches.....

This frame was chopped pretty hard somewhere in it's life. The fatbob mounts, horn blocks, and sidecar mounts were all cut off, and plates were welded in for the neck and the seat area to make the molding easier.
Then at another point in it's life a set of fat bob mounts were welded back on. These are the ones I am going to cut off which will allow me to mount a tank aligned to the backbone.
Clear as mud, right?Last edited by DoomBuggy; 06-19-2017 at 9:06 AM.

It depends more on how far do you want to ride before you need to get gas??? My pan will go around 100 miles before I need gas again.... And that's about where I'm ready to stop and get gas on a rigid these days... LOL

I am looking at Prescott to Phoenix at right about 100 miles and ( assuming we do move to Prescott ) that will be the longest regular ride I will be making so maybe 2 gallons would work for me. That would mean one stop about half way which would be OK also.
Choices, choices, choices....Last edited by DoomBuggy; 06-19-2017 at 11:11 AM.

Great input folks.
Last night I took to the garage and removed the fatbob mounts, much cleaner looking already.
Now to decide on how many gallons I can live with, 2 or 3.
@vnygra, did you do the gold leaf work on your tank, looks spectacular! I like the way the front mount uses the speedo cable hole in the frame. That has me thinking!
Many thanks everyone!

I keep thinking about this tank. I like it too much but I am wondering how I should mount it?????
The tank mount is way too close to the neck, I can move that back about 3 inches maximum. Any more and it would be too close to where I want to mount the seat.
Question:
Should I relocate the tank mount or should, could I remove the tank mount and drill through the frame and set it there?
Thanks!
