    Can i use roller chain from McMaster-Carr....

    Instead of buying 530 chain and spending the $60 (im a cheap fuck) can i order regular roller chain....free thru work.

    I do believe chain has a speed rating as well.
    Know guys that run bulk chain from the farm supply, they report it wears out fast.
    But if it's cheap... lube often, adjust often and swap out when worn.

      the roller between the link plates on motorcycle chain is solid
      usually bulk chain has a split in. it its not made for high speed use
      you going to trust your ass to it at 80mph

          wearing chains out quick sucks, throwing them sucks more. You can do whatever you want though.

            The above is true, also remember that free chain is pretty expensive if it leads to premature wear of your sprockets,

              Thats all i needed to know. I would use the free "bulk chain"!if it was the same....not gonna risk it though, appreciate the info

                Hey guys, I cheaped out and bought a shitty ebay chain for my build and only about a month later its stretched to it's limit. I don't have the clearance to run an o-ring chain, what are some strong 530x120 non o-ring chains that you've ran? I have a 1200 that is making decent power.
