    Default Sportster shift lever

Does anyone know and tell if the 91/03 sportster shift levers (the one that sits on the shift shaft of the primary cover)
is only available in cast metal and alloy!?
Or is there also one from steel available like lots of jap bikes have?
Or only the clamping piece would do ,so i can make and weld the rest of the shift assembly.

    Cheers and thanks!

Yes that's the one ,but I hoped to find a steel one or only the clamping piece from steel so i can make the rest myself.
Or that someone would know if another lever has the same clamp dimensions!?

Most of them look like alloy but are some cast metal like the carbs and older toy cars.

Perhaps a lever from the Ironhead models will work. They was steel ...
Not sure if the Mo-Co changed the shaft size or not ..?? .. Most likely it's the same....

They do make chrome ones, which I imagine are steel underneath. You could blast the chrome off.

Think you could used the stock one with a bit of fab work....

Curious to know what you may have found out?

I just bolted some rod to my stock shift lever as I didn't want to start cutting/grinding/trying to weld the only one I had to find out it won't work. If I can find a steel one I'd like to make a cleaner shift lever too.
