    Default Antigravity?

    79 FLH80 - starter, Tail light, & a head light.
I need a new battery, my battery is the wrong size and half dead (holds 53% charge). Still starts but I figure it's on its way out. I'd like it to fit in a wrap around oil tank I plan on adding in a couple months.

I read a post where a couple guys said they had problems with antigravity.

Who should I go with? How many cold cranking amps do I need?

For what its worth, I had a 12V antigravity on my ironhead. After it discharged ONE time it would never recharge. From what I've been told you need to buy the charger specifically for antigravities and can only use that. I ended up getting an even smaller battery from autozone for about $40 bucks, we'll see how that holds up but I will never sink my money into an antigravity again. I turned mine in for the $20 core charge.

Those lithium ion batteries are not good in the cold, and I've been told they don't like rigid frames. For the price tag associated with them and their reputation, I would search elsewhere.

Ive have an 8 cell Antigravity for about 1 year in my ridged chop electric start panhead with no issues but it sounds like im in the minority. I use a Battery Tender lithium specific charger.

The people that I've heard that like them, really like them and vice versa, doesn't seem to be much in between with them.

I've never had an issue with an old fashion battery...

The stories of fires and dead batteries with prorated warranties has me scared of the lithium ion batteries.

I've been left stranded with that battery twice.

Rigid pan, points ignition. Cycle Electrics genny that is fairly new.

Bought a shorai and I'm loving life again.

When anti-gravity batteries work, they're nice. When they shit out on you 100 miles from home while riding with friends, twice, I'm fucking done with their asses.

My advice is to find a battery in town so you can easily return it without shipping hassle and waiting around if it is faulty. Shorai has multiple sizes and I was able to take my horshoe tank measurements and a tape into the store and measure the battery up close. Any place that sells modern sport bike equipment/ accessories will probably carry them as well as multiple other small options.

Running an 8 cell in my wife's ironhead. Cycle electric genny and kick only. Works great! Went to Frys electronics and bought a $15 charger.

I had an Antigravity battery die an early death way way out in no man's land, (Alien run)
I was able to keep riding thanks to the magneto, but then the sun set down & had to ride
50 miles with no lights, (sketchy as fuk) Anti-gravity amazingly gave Me a free replacement, but
then the replacement battery took a crap after 5 months & I replaced it with a super huge, heavy, lead acid battery, and
it is kicking ass, & was way cheaper. screw them lithium batteries
