Default Fucked up my trans, going to a 6 speed

Well I thought my clutch plates had gone bad but somehow my clutch came off the tapered shaft and fucked it all to hell, so i bought a cheap 6 speed, gonna see if it'll work. Hopefully installed tonight. Also looking at a set of 4" over forks to throw on the softail. Needing to order longer cabels to put my 16" bars on. Can't wait!!!

My buddy let me borrow his 2009 Super Glide Kinda don't like it

Good Point so here's more info
The main bike is a 1989 FXSTC
I destroyed the transmission mainshaft where the woodruff key holds the clutch hub on so i decided to get a cheap ultima 6 speed since I had the spare change,
I ordered a clutch basket hub etc from a 2003 Dyna, and since my inner primary has a crack I decided to pick up a 2002 softail inner and outer primary, which actually is interchangeable with my original inner and outer except for the 5 bolt derby cover. I'm assuming after reading more I could just buy a used 2002/2003 starter and jackshaft and use that. Gonna look into the website above as well.

The 86 to 90 models was the last of the old key & taper mainshafts...
In 91 H-D went to the spline shaft...(One year only shaft, 92 seen a diff shaft due to internal mods of the trans)

You can convert your tranny over by using the 91 shaft and going to the clutch for that model shaft....

My problem is everything fits together except my starter jackshaft, I'm not home So I can't count teeth but I assume since its off a 2002, its the 102 teeth or 84 Idk, I guess another dumb question would be can I swap the gear ring from one to the other? again not near my bike/garage.

EDIT as I misread an earlier post.

You can use all the later parts since you replaced your inner and outer primary. Just buy the jackshaft kit.

Get the All Balls single piece jack shaft instead of the silly factory abortion.

Ring gear won't swap because they are riveted in place. You could probably install barrel-style threaded inserts but the insert kit would cost about as much as a ring gear. 102T ring gears are the weakest of the lot so you could upgrade to a 66T or 84T kit if you plan on high compression later on.

A set of rake cups sure would go hand in hand with those forks...
