    Sportsters

I bought this motorcycle in 1985 it’s a 1982 Sporty. At that time all the big bike riders called Sportsters, dirt bikes and girls bikes. They said that Sportsters kept the bike shops in business. I rode this bike from Tulsa to Boston and the only problem I had was the float sticking. Couple taps with a screwdriver fixed that. I rode for some years in Mass then in 93 put it in the garage. I gave it to my oldest son and last month we started working on it. Thru a battery in it and after a few tries it started right up with the old gas that was in the tank. We’re not finished with it yet but here are some pics.

Most of the big twin owners I know couldn't even start my 74 IH chop, let alone ride it. And if they did, they'd come back and have to change their pants! Have fun!

Ironheads forever, and I don't give a slippery shit about what others think. If they can ride a stripped down rigid frame chop outside the city limits, cool. Girls bike? BLOw ME!!!

              Here's mine...

I've been riding this about 6 years. Stock 883 motor in a Paughco frame. I ride it on a 900 mile trip once a year through Frisco. It's the first bike I've ever built, and will never get rid of it. It's stock, but I have no trouble keeping up with my friends big Twins...

That's a hell of a gift man, I hope he appreciates it. From the looks of the pictures though I'm sure he already does.

I started out with a '65 Triumph, moved up to an'83 XLX(only new Harley I'll ever own), rode a chopped Pan for 16 years, and switched back to Sportsters. I sure wish I still had my '83!

I got the best of both worlds, a '67 XLCH and a '98 Sportster sport. Sportsters are fuckin' great. I also have a rigid Evo big twin. I love em' all.
