Ironhead transmission rebuild. Need some advice/help.

I have a 1981 iron head basket case. This is my first project and I'm still learning, so please bare with me.
The transmission was taken apart and I'm missing some washers, bushings, and little stuff like that. I also noticed that one of the shifter forks is +.015".

I would really like to rebuild this trans because that's the one that was originally in the bike, but I'm having a hard time tracking down all the little parts I need. No one makes an iron head tranny rebuild kit.

Is there a detailed thread somewhere about rebuilding ironhead transmissions with pictures?
Is it worth my time to try to rebuild this thing?
Is this even a job that a novice can handle?
Or should I just try to find another transmission that's already assembled?

I realize some of you are probably rolling your eyes or shaking your heads right now. I get it.
Just asking for your advice. Not your negativity.

Owner got lucky with it spitting two teeth off a gear and not blowing up the motor case...!!!
