That's just heat tape protecting the polished surfaces from being coated .... Once I hit the polish one more time and clean off the plaint from the lettering, it will get clear powder over the whole blacking plate....

When the rest of the filters gets to me, the fronts will also be powder cleared.

Dang after all that work think I'll head to the bar tonight...
(Wonder who's turn it is ??)

    Drunk at the bar ...

One night a police officer was staking out a particularly rowdy bar for possible DUI violations.

At closing time, he saw a fellow stumble out of the bar, trip on the curb and try his keys on five different cars before he found his.
The man sat in the front seat fumbling around with his keys for several minutes. Meanwhile, all the other patrons left the bar and drove off.

Finally he started his engine and began to pull away. The police officer was waiting for him. As soon as he pulled onto the street, the officer stopped him, read him his rights and administered the breathalyzer test to determine his blood-alcohol content.

The results showed a reading of 0.0. The puzzled officer demanded to know how that could be. The driver replied,

    "Tonight I'm the designated decoy."

    (Hope it's not mine .)

    Cool Beans .....

Being the tranny has been raise up in the frame, the fifth mount needed a spacer...
What we did was to have Edlund make a special frame mount that will take the place of the stock mount..

Had it sent to the owner, he slice off the Og and welded on the special ..

Nice work so far. If you haven't made up the manifold yet - consider extending the S&S one! A mate of mine made one for twin amals from a
two throat manifold, came out pretty nice:

question- do the rileys or those amal's bolt up to the sns flange on the end of their manifold. I know there is limited room but is the c/l to c/l on them bolt up or do you need to fab flanges also? I want to see howz its done. I've had a 264 on the shelf for god knows how long and never did what I invisioned cause i'm a dummy with no fab skills.

No..... They don't just simply bolt right up....

Zeeman's intake was made using the S&S intake and the flanges from the amal's intakes...
That was some labor in fitting, welding and finish it took to make...

The Riley's that I got came with the Offy intake log... Most likely I will be sawing that up for the flanges...
Could make em, but to save a few hours of time at the mill table, will be doing the slice & dice gig....

To save the manifold,(don't know much about it but im sure someone somewheres chasing one) you could you simply draw it up and have the flanges profile cut? My thinking being it would take as much if not less time than taking a saw to the one you have there....Just a thought

    Might just do that....
Bad enough doing the bad to the S&S manifold, but to kill a Offy made back in the 30's might give me nightmares ..

Here's my idea of using dual throttle cables made for a XR-1000 ...

Thinking about building the cable perches into the manifold .... ???

The single cable will run inside the handle-bar to the Internal Throttle Assembly
