I keep a caribeaner on my sissybar right above the backrest. Been hanging my cap there for years and only lost one that was pretty crusty and falling apart anyway.

I ride with a hat-on occasionally, but it can get uncomfortable. Usually happens when there's titties on my back and my left hand's reaching behind for the clutch........

A duct tape hat seems like it may stay on my head pretty good.... And it would probably save me a few bucks at the barber. Good idea!

There is a strap under his neck.......

Hell even with a strap I can't keep mine on my head over 60 or so, and it's is damned uncomfortable with the strap around my neck while the Fedora acts like a parachute behind me. So if I'm going somewhere it's tied to the sissybar.

I hang mine on the right side mirror post. Hanging to the front it doesnt blow around in the wind

I wear a helmet and usually drag a flat cap or ball cap along if I plan on being out in the sun (I don't like the sun baking my baldness). I usually stick the bill of the ball cap in the back of my pants, flat against the small of my back.
Most of the time I ride tho, I have an old Nam era backpack on so the hat is usually stuck in/on it somewhere.

Put it in your purse, you can even wrap it around tampons to maximize space.

I tuck mine into the sleeve of my coat or sweatshirt.
