The Creature ('86 sporty build)
Hey dudes! So Saturday i took a long drive and traded my XS for (most of) an '86 evo sportster. Now to be clear, I'm not going to be fabbing up a custom frame so i wouldn't necessarily call this a "build" however, I do want to document the progress and putting this thing together to my liking and doing all the paintwork myself. Ive had a vision for this bike for a lonngg time now, way before owning a sporty was even within reach. I want to do my take a narrow lane splitter. Anyway here she is as she sits now.
It's got a brand new Cycle Standard tank, new shotgun pipes and a recently installed Super B. This is my first venture into American bikes from metrics so i may ask for some help along the way, especially for that Super B. Thanks guys! And if anyone has a set of 39mm trees laying around let me know.

Thanks dude! I was showing to a buddy last night and he noticed that it has solid lifters and adjustable push rods, which would indicate (hopefully) that its got some gnarly cams in it. That would also explain the modified hotrodded Super B that its got. I'm so stoked to get this thing to fire!

86 came stock with solid lifters and adjustable pushrods. FYI. Is yours the 883 or 1100? 1100 models are a badass motor. The heads are the predecessor to the buell xb19 heads .

Mine is the 883 though at some point I plan on doing the 1200 head swap. As far as the push rods and lifters go, that's just what I was told. This is my first venture into Harley's and I'm trying to pic up spec changes through the years as I go.
