Pressure testing a new tank?
I get the point of pressure testing a new tank to ensure its adequately sealed to hold fuel and not leak, but how's it done? Simple as coating it in soapy water and hooking an air compressor to the petcock and looking for bubbles?

I would NOT hook it to a compressor. If you over inflate it you will wreck the tank. Install your gas cap and plug the petcock hole. I would rig a tire fill valve and an air pressure gauge and use a hand pump. You only need a few pounds of pressure. If the pressure on the gauge holds you're good to go.
