2003 Softail kind of old school chopper build

So, my build started off with a pretty much bone stock 2003 Softail. Me being me, I didn't bother even test driving it, mainly because it was almost snowing and I knew I wasn't going to ride around with a stock bike.

I started taking it apart the second I got it, just to see what was underneath all that stock bs. At first I wanted to make it into simple bobber, but that seemed a too boring. The mod list isn't that long, the biggest changes were the Paughco exhaust, front forks being shaven and the sissy bar with a Lowbrow fender. The seat is a quick fix atm, will do a custom seat that actually fits it in the winter.

Things left to do: Get a chromed oil tank, bling up the engine, rake it about 10 degrees, custom seat, taller sissy bar, EFI to carb (if anyone has some good tips then let me know), move the foot rests because its kind of cramped right now. The paint is only half way there right now, it will be getting some gold leaf and pin stripes for the next year.

A quick edit I did to see how the raked front end would look like

And here's a pic to show just how the small the bike visually is for me and why I need to make some bigger changes, isn't always that good to be tall, especially when it comes to bikes

Now give me some feedback, can't wait to hear what people think of it
(How the hell can I get the pictures to show bigger in the post)

It looks real nice........ A thinner tank would look better from the back but it looks nice from the side...... Use photo bucket to make your pics larger........

Up and out! Chop that frame.
Seat could move down and back at least.
Lose the raked trees and fit longer tubes.

You cant deny the lines of a softail. 21 Inch front wheel, wide glide, fat bob tanks: That was the style of the FIRST bobbers right after WWII.
Stocker Softails dont take much work to get them to look really good. That flat fender, solo seat, sissy bar really cleans up the lines: And you can never go wrong with upsweep cocktail shakers. A set of 18" Apes would really polish it off Nice job, keeps the original geometry of the bike, as well as the reliability

Looking good so far man. Keep fighting the good fight. here is my 93 softail. I'm 6'1 and really like the extended forward controls that came with my bike. If I want to wiggle around I can rest my feet on my primary and nose cone too. Narrow tanks look great just consider the loss in range before you commit.

I think it looks good. I wouldn't rake it

This looks Tuff. With this being an 2003 EFI did you have to change anything going to the new exhaust?

I have a 2003 Softail Carb that I am wanting to do what you have done.

Did you fabricate your own fitting of the sissy bar with the Lowbrow fender?
Did you use their Gasbox Cast Steel Weld On Fender Bracket? If so, can you take pics or explain what you did?

              Thanks,
