This winter I plan on finally making the FXR My own, (Stripping frame, beefing up the EVO,new front forks). I kinda like the 90's style the bike has now with the tall wide apes and wideglide conversion front end. I'd like to get better handling characteristics out of her without going back to a narrow glide front end.
I'm not really sure where to start though, do I just get a XB front end and get triple trees for the proper rake? Or do I just do a complete custom front end? Then there is a question of wheels and brakes, I'd like to keep the 19 spoked wheel in the front or upgrade to the 21. I've already done the brembo front brake converion which helps out mucho compared to the single piston stocker.
I'm sure i'll have other questions as we get into fall and I start yanking her apart.
