180 or 200 rear hardtail offset

Hello folks, I am starting my hardtail build. My plans are to run a 180 or a 200 rear tire, shovelhead, belt drive, no inner primary, 4 or a 5 speed tranny. I think im going to make the frame have the 70s style tranny mounts (4 speed) but might run a 5 speed just using a different plate. My question is....can i just run an offset sprocket or am i going to have to offset my transmission to run this wide of a tire?
