    RIP Lemmy.

The veteran rocker whose substance-fuelled career spanned six decades.

Lemmy is a fucking hero, a god who got me into music (only shit loud enough for my deaf ass to hear), and kept it good and rolling for my entire life. My dad and me both loved this guy and everything he did. Absolute badass in all regards.

Yeah its sappy, but fuck it, its worth it. Hell just got a whole lot louder.

First Philthy, now this. I can remember listening to Ace of Spades on the crackly tapered in my dad's old Chevy. I'm at a loss to explain how bummed I am. Some people just seem immortal.

Saw him for the first time around the mid 80's at a bar on Long Island called Sundance in Bay Shore. Caught up again w/them at the theatre in MSG w/Megadeath a couple of years ago , then a couple of months ago at Jones beach theatre. I didn't want to see him there 'cause I hate that venue but my friend Drew told me he had been in bad health and had already cancelled a few shows. He said "you gotta go Tim, I think this might be Lemmys last go round." Turns out he was right and I'm glad I saw him one last time. Their album "Inferno" from 2005 is a masterpiece.

Lemmy neither burned out nor faded away. A life well lived to the end.
