So picked up this 2000 roadstar 1600 off Craigslist a couple weeks ago. It was posted for 1600 bucks after looking at it for a couple minutes with the owner they agreed to 700 beans (woo hoo). I was able to work out a trade for a Glock and accessories for the bike. Well i got it to the truck shop i work at and a buddy and i started stripping her apart. This will definitely be a work in progress and take some time. I will be getting more pictures as well. Got her running for the first time in 5 years. Had to run a small come bottle as a fuel tank seeing the stock one was rotted.

Moved the wiring out of the way and cut off the remaining factory seat bracket. Taking down some of the surface rust and will spray it quick just to seal it till next winter. Just wondering if anyone knows the best way of deleting the kick stand switch and other switches I don't want.Comment

I'd bet all you'd have to do for the kickstand switch is short the two wires going into it. That's how most (including my old 01' xvs650) are. If that doesn't work, disconnect them from each other, and that'll do it.Comment

Yeah thats what I figured I could do. I'll strip the wiring all the way out to the seat area and then either dead end em or short them together.Comment

So i have the stock foot board brackets off to make up a template for the foot pegs im going to make up. I also cut the heel part of the stock shifter off so it is just toe shift. I then cut the round heel end off of the left over piece. I will be welding this to the right side for the rear brake to match the shifter. I have to get some other pictures but i also have the entire harness out. Ordered my la rosa solo seat and springs then Monday i will be ordering a k&n round intake filter.Comment

Hell yeah man! I'll be following this one.
What tank you thinking of going with? Planning on mounting the fender to the main frame or the swingarm? I went through all this last winter/spring. Let me know if you have any questions.
I'll be in the garage soon for the new changes I have planned.Comment
