What tank you thinking of going with? Planning on mounting the fender to the main frame or the swingarm? I went through all this last winter/spring. Let me know if you have any questions.

I'll be in the garage soon for the new changes I have planned.
Cool man follow along i figured no one gave a s*** about this thread lol. I am going with a 3 gallon sportster tank. Hopefully picking one up not this weekend but the next. It is a right side petcock so i think i read that might not work but i will see haha. The rear fender i am going to try and mount to the swingarm. I have a bunch of aluminum diamond plate that i am going to make into an electrical box pretty much taking up the whole space above the oil tank.

I am looking into coke bottle grips. I would like to do a single throttle cable. I noticed some coke bottle grips have the throttle tube already. I am unsure if they come set up for dual cable or single cable? Cause if they come dual cable i can just buy a single cable tube and the grips that don't come with the tube. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I figured it out. Ended up getting a biltwell single cable whiskey throttle.

Some updated pictures. Still a bunch of work to do. Taking a lot of time to get done. Sucks i work an hour away from home or else id be spending more time on the bike. Now getting the rust of the rims before i put the rubber on. Going to install the fuel sight tube then fire her over.

Thats actually the throttle tube assembly. The grip skides over that it is knurled to help hold the grip on. Its a biltwell single cable whiskey throttle.

To save yourself money and time keep the stock Yamaha Throttle tube and
just buy the rubber grips you want. That way you do not have to add a 2nd
throttle housing next to the start switch housing.
You can always just use a one cable system to the stock Yamaha throttle.
