Decided to put off studying for finals more and I started wingin it on a license plate bracket tonight. I've never been one for grinding my welds but I tried it on this. It's kind of cool to see everything disappear and merge in to one seamless piece.

Great work out there - Virago is cool motorcycle to tune and mod.

IMO Virago's are ugly pieces of shit and they're a pain to make cool because they have a shaft drive and stamped frame. There also isn't jack shit for after market parts. Which, in the end, certainly makes them cool to tune and mod.

Here's an update on where the sissy bar sits right now. My old brake light is gonna go in that oval above the license plate. 3 additional lights are going to mount vertically in between each set of strap eyelets. These only have one brightness setting so 1 of the 3 will be a running light and the other 2 will only come on as a brake light. Maybe I'll just make all 3 brake lights. Not sure yet.

Update before I go home for break and can't work on the bike again until January. Did some more work on the sissy bar. Made a bracket for one of the 3 round brake lights I'm gonna mount on the back. Also attached half a fender and some sheet to start mounting all my electrical on. I have to extend my harness like 12 inches so that'll be a pain in the ass but whatever.

Started working on the king & queen seat frame. I wanted to use my new harbor freight bender but since I'm renting this crack shack I'm hesitant to bolt it down in to the basement floor. I just cut a bunch of notches in the rebar then bent it up with the help of a piece of pipe.

Extended the harness about 8 inches. Figuring out where everything goes.

Hey man, thanks for the idea for mounting the regulator/rectifier to the ammo can. Im using a .50 cal ammo can for my 650 desecration/bobber and will most likely be doing that too.

Best of luck with everything else.

Just a heads up--- make sure your RR has a ground wire coming from it that goes to the battery or frame. I have an after market RR on my bike with one. The stock one had no ground wire and was frame grounded on the RR mount points. Mounting it on the ammo can wouldn't work in that case because it needs a good ground or it will over heat and blow up. A lot of bike have RRs with the ground wire but just double check so you don't end up with it blowing and killing your bike.

Welded one side of the seat on. Cut up an ammo can. I'm gonna mount one of these on either side. I'll probably mount this one tomorrow.

Got the seat pretty much finished up. I was gonna go a slightly different route when I started it so that's why the pan is in two pieces. Oh well. I'll probably just keep it that way.
Things left to do on the rear end are: add 2 more break lights, wire them and the starter, mount passenger foot pegs, and mount the ammo cans.

I welded some nuts to the frame and added some extra plate to the cans. It's all very sturdy now. I'm a little paranoid about the cans falling off so grade 8 bolts & nuts were used. I also welded on plate so I can put a padlock on the cans.

Thanks Juan. I'm lookin forward to seein you get started back on your bike.

Finished up the brake lights today. This chick was following me somewhere one day and told me she almost rear ended me cause she couldn't see my brake light come on very well. Hopefully this will solve that problem. Everyone should know when I'm stopping now.

I made up a little tail pipe bracket which is just what I needed to keep those pipes lined up and sturdy. I found a bunch of round bar in my scrap bin and decided I need a spiderweb somewhere on here. I got inspiration by the little webs on the corner of 86d's sissy bar. I ran out of round so I guess I'll have to buy more and finish her up. I might make another one or something else completely for the other side of the battery. That side will have to bolt on or use hinges though.
