"Norcal Style" Sportsters: Let's See Em

    The Norcal Style Sporty:

    One of my favorite styles:

    - Sportster with stock rake.

    - Not hardtailed (solid struts can qualify)

    - 4" minimum extended tubes (Springers qualify too)

    - Lotsa Chrome and usually flashy paint (frame is usually painted to match)

    - The un-necessaries removed

    Here is my attempt:

    77 Ironhead
    - 4" Over
    - 21" Front Wheel

Missing the flashy paint and painted to match frame but I think it is scratching the surface. Also, I believe Norcal 60s/70s style doesn't usually encompass a sissybar but I use mine:

hope this thread picks up, I love that style and really love the swingarm style on my sporty.

Any reason you're keeping the chain guard and reflectors? Great looking bike by the way

this is what i'm going for on mine.
I have an 8 over springer and I'm lowering the rear (might hardtail though).. I like seeing the bottom of the frame and engine when on it's side stand.

I've always referred to this style as "Frisco", which I think most people use to describe bikes like this. Might help you find more bikes like this if you look for frisco stuff.

How do you do the 4" extension? That seems a fairly cheep mod to try.

Compared to raking at thousand though. So no real changes other than the brake line?

Thousand dollars to rake the neck? Holy shit, I need to put an ad on CL and start doing rake jobs!

You'll need to fork tubes, fork seals, fork fluid, PVC pipe to make spacers, and your shop manual. I'd personally throw new springs in the forks while they're apart, as well. Brake line may or may not be needed, but at +4", I'd plan on buying one.

It's still cheaper than $1k... But seriously, a rake job is 2-3 cuts on the frame, 5-6 cuts of sheet metal, 7-8 welds lol

This is kinda what I'm going for with my bike, I just haven't gotten the extended forks, in fact I think mine are 2 under also I need a 21 inch front instead of this 19" and to give it a good polish. And I'm running a sissy bar for the same reason as you i need it. So I don't even think this really counts but I'm on my way.

If you can weld and cut and not screw up your world like I can do. Sorry, it's like $1,500 I think they are selling you a custom tree. http://www.chopperkitusa.com/
