    Default Thursday art ...

Here are a few pics of a set of tins I finished up this week. I sure hope I don't get flamed like the dude that posted the painting of the chick w/ the gimpy arm in last weeks art thread.

Wow that flake must be impossible to look at in the sun, awesome. And Xian great work as always, I like the idea of a beer "glass" holder.

    Those are both outstanding!

I wasn't trying to come down too hard on the gimpy arm girl but for me it was the first thing I noticed ... didn't realize the comment would turn into a giant flame job!

This isn't as cool as doing something with your hands ... paint or leather work ... but I recently designed this logo for Chris and I think he's pretty stoked on it.

Well my customer wasn't real stoked on the colors of the plaid, so we came to an agreement that I would redo it in different colors. It's a bummer, but the customer is always right. He turned out ot be a pretty cool guy after all , so I'm not too bummed out about painting it again for him. I wouldn't want to run tins that I wasn't happy with, so I understand where he's coming from. I just have a bunch of hours in it and wanted to post it up before it gets all blasted off for the redo.

The few good painters I know are always like, pick a color scheme and I'll do the rest, which I personally think is a cool way to go, leaving the artistic design up to the artist. That is, until what you do doesn't exactly fit the vision of what they thought they were getting. That's a tough rope to walk ... I know for me, everything is on the puter so it can be undone and changed ... usually an easy to fix. I can't imagine doing all that work, being happy with the result, then having to wipe it and start over.

That's just a damn shame to have to start all over on such an awesome job. I hate that for ya man, but I know how it goes when you're workin with the public. Bummer man.
