    Hey Dragstews

Bud I have seen some messed up shit but I never seen a bolt shoved up through the bottom on the rear tranny plate before, I welded nuts broke them before I finally drilled through the bottom.
and it screwed out the top (O)(o) wtf
Anyway Im having a brain fart and was wondering if you know the bolt size and the tpi, I want to buy a Time Sert Kit as I allways see 1 of these stripped out
Slowly plugging away on that big assed flattie
    and thanks in advance
    Dave

They will probably clean up at 40 over they are at 30 atm
            I got lucky
            Should be fun putting together
I think the main thing is getting the oil pump spring pressures correct
Top end was real crusty so over oiling
I didn't look at my oil pump yet so not sure if it's a 2 ball or a 1 ball
Return was ok looking allso that 2 pc retainer is on the floor somewhere lol
I'm in frame ans sheet metal mode atm

              ......

After you dig out the Bondo Boogers and get back to building the motor....

Got a few up-grades that might be of some interest to you...

Depends on how deep into the motor your willing to go... ???

One would be getting away from the step crank-pin and going with the 41 FL pin...
(More foot area in the tapper and super large nuts makes for a better built crank)

Two, the oil pump up-grade and 360 degree oiling for the pinion shaft.

Three, baffle plates cut back and modern rings installed.

And a few other's for making some HP in a motor that seen only around 30 pony's ... These are mostly part choices..!!

Say, when you do mow the yard... ya ever find any lost cars...??? ...
(Looking for a Henry J .... Let me know if you run up on one)

tell me about the oil pump Drag
right case 38 left case 40 or 41 I forget re stamped I guess have title so ...
front has the baffle so that's a dead give away rear does not as per palmers
that's why im not bothering replacing top motor mount with correct or tool box, but its still in the back of my head, nor replacing the head that has been repaired, I did a good job cleaning that up, looks like it was hit I assume and they fixed it, was a nice job just had weld mark so I ground and filled.
the bearing cups are Timken which aint no big deal, I swiped the chrome front end off the 46 and have an off set I have to unfuck , (yeah right, he means have some one else get it correct on them rear legs)
yeah there is the ol ladys car In the yard LOL,
kid in school in 70's had a yeller Herny J it was stunning all tricked out, course he beat it to shit and fucked it up...

what part changes ya have in mind? for the most part stock is fine with me, like its going to be fast anyway LOL
trying to find a M51 is a big pain in the ass, I got to figure a carb out, I cant rember but theres another model carb u can put on but u got to change the ventury or some shit and I cant spell that word, anyway I cant rember atleast both the other motors have carbs and both are real sweet.

That's a mighty tasty lookin knuck frame there... Can't wait to see how this turns out.

That fender reminds me of the one on my buddy's 36 VL, but his is worse. There's literally not an area larger than 2 sq/in w/o a dent, ding, or wobble in it, haha!

no shit, i rented a house in Hawaii one time and the first time i mowed the yard i found a datsun completely covered over . i thought it was a dirt pile before i started mowing. the grass over there is actually a type of bamboo and when it sprouts it has an iron hard needle tip that will punch up through anything in it's way as it grows. if a sheet of tin is laying on the ground it will grow through it.
